Welcome to Homeschooling Sixth Grade Social Studies! My goal is to guide you step-by-step through the process of learning to use the high-quality, free history and geography curriculum from Core Knowledge to homeschool your student.
What Will Your Student Learn in Sixth Grade? Your student will be continuing to work on their geography skills with a particular focus on the great deserts of the world. In world history they’ll learn about ancient Greece and Rome, the Enlightenment, the French Revolution and Romanticism, the independence movement in Latin America, and the Industrial Revolution. In American history they will dive deep into how immigration has shaped American history and culture, the industrialization and urbanization of America, and reform in industrial America with a special focus on those who have advocated for social justice and equal rights for all Americans.
